At our initial meeting, Zoey and Chloe might have seemed at bit intimidating as clients, however after it was understood by all that this project would be built around their demanding lifestyles, and after a generous supply of doggy treats, I had them literally eating our of my hand.
This fact that the world was essentially their chew toy meant that the materials we selected would need to be drool proof and be resistant to Zoeys nightly self back scratching ritual, that consisted of winding in a kind of zig zag pattern on the nearest pc of furniture.
Susan and I agreed that a mohair velvet due to it’s indestructible nature, was the perfect choice for the custom sofa in the family room, Mohair velvets had been used for its durability since the late part of the 19th century for upholstery on theatre seats, and less romantically on seats for horse drawn funeral wagons.
For the Art Deco style lounge chairs, we chose an Italian vinyl, however it seemed that it may have brought back traumatic memories of car seats for Zooey because he chewed through it in a matter of months.
All in all as the pups matured , their servants/owners really came to appreciate the work that we provided , and they seemed to need fewer furniture repairs and rebuilds (however we did for a moment consider breeding the little scamps and including a free puppy with every design job) I’ll keep you posted on future repairs.
